Privacy policy

joeytrades.com is a personal trading log run by one person. It is a static site: the pages you are reading were generated ahead of time by a script and are served as plain files. There is no account to create, no login, and nothing to opt into.

What is collected when you just read the site

Nothing. The pages carry no JavaScript, no analytics, no tracking pixels, and set no cookies. No profile of you is built, and no data about your visit is stored by me.

The one unavoidable exception is ordinary web-server logging. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which records standard request data (IP address, time, page requested, user agent) for security and abuse prevention, as every web host does. I do not use those logs for analytics, and I do not combine them with anything else. Cloudflare’s handling is governed by their privacy policy.

Video on the episode pages

Pages under /streams/ embed a YouTube player. Those are the only third-party requests the site makes, and only on those pages.

The player is loaded from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, which does not set a tracking cookie unless you actually press play. Once you do, you are interacting with YouTube and Google’s terms and privacy policy apply to that playback. Nothing about it is reported back to me beyond the public view counts anyone can see.

If you sign the education agreement

One page on this site collects information on purpose: the education agreement, which is only relevant if you have arranged education sessions with me. Submitting that form records:

  • your name, email address, and typed signature
  • which terms you checked, and the version of the terms you agreed to
  • the date and time, your IP address, and your browser’s user agent

Those last three exist so an e-signature is actually evidence of something. The record is stored in a private database (Supabase) that only the server can read, and a copy of the signed agreement is emailed to you through Resend. It is not sold, shared, published, or used for marketing, and it is never posted to the public log.

What is published, and what never is

The trade log publishes my own trading — every fill, dollars included. That is my data, not yours. It is deliberately incomplete in three ways: account numbers, security identifiers (CUSIPs), and my private notes on each trade are stripped by the build and never leave my machine.

Keeping, deleting, and asking

Signed agreements are kept as long as I may need them as a record. Server logs age out on Cloudflare’s normal schedule. There is nothing else to keep.

You can ask me what I hold about you, ask for a copy, or ask me to delete it, by emailing joey@joeytrades.com. I will do it. There is no form and no process — it is one person reading email.

Children

This site is not directed at children and I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date at the top changes with it. The site is built from a public git history, so what it said on any given day is a matter of record rather than of memory.
